The
word saline electuary is taken from
two different languages. The word saline
is probably taken from latin language related to salinum, meaning a salt cellar (cellar means basement) or salinae, means salt pits (pits means
contents).The word electuary have two
origins. One is from Late Latin electuarium, means paste for oral use but some
people say that it is taken from Greek word ekleikton, from ekleikhein, to lick up. It
is a herbal product made up of herbs and some salts, dissolved in the sugar,
honey or gur which is administered orally and used as a bronchodilator in some
respiratory problems like Asthmas, COPD, and Allergic respiratory reactions or
a herbal medical paste made up of dried herbs, salts and some palatable
substances which is administered per os for the problems of upper respiratory
tract like allergy, COPD, asthma etc.
Requirements
